Static images and descriptions alone weren't enough to fully convey product experience, which is important in beauty, where customers rely heavily on seeing the product in context before buying. We integrated the UGC video directly into the product page, letting customers watch short-form, interactive videos showcasing the product in real use. The videos appear as an overlay-style experience that combines content consumption with a direct path to purchase, so shoppers can move from watching to adding to cart without breaking flow.
UGC-style video significantly increases engagement and builds trust by showing authentic product usage. It provides social proof and real-life context, increases time spent on product pages, creates a more immersive shopping experience, and enables faster purchase decisions all of which compound into higher conversion on PDPs.
Built using Tolstoy's video platform embedded into the Shopify product page. Seamless embedding within the PDP without disrupting layout, an interactive video layer with product tagging and a direct "Shop" CTA, mobile-optimized vertical video, and smooth overlay behavior to maintain focus and usability.
