Non-intrusive product recommendations under Order Summary at checkout for last-minute additions.
Once customers arrived at the one-page checkout, they only saw the items already in their order. There was no lightweight way to surface complementary products at that final stage. If a shopper wanted to add something small, an accessory, for example, they'd have to go back to the cart or catalog, which most people were reluctant to do so late in the flow. The business was missing an opportunity to gently increase order value without disrupting checkout.
We added a dedicated upsell section called "You May Also Like" directly to the checkout interface. It appears in the right column, immediately under the Order Summary, and shows a small set of recommended products with image, name, price and a clear CTA. Customers can add one of these offers while staying on the same checkout page, and the Order Summary updates; the main checkout steps stay untouched.
This created a non-intrusive way to present relevant add-ons at the exact moment customers are most committed to buying. It helps increase average order value by capturing last-minute interest in ancillary products, without adding steps or friction to the core checkout flow.
Built as a Shopify Checkout UI Extension within the one-page Shopify Checkout layout, in the right-hand column directly below the Order Summary. The admin can define or update the list of products independently through the checkout editor. Typically shows three recommended products, each with an image, title, price, and an "add" CTA. When the customer clicks the CTA, the selected item is added to the current checkout, totals are recalculated via the extension, and the structure of the checkout itself isn't modified.
